Marco Vasta presented the book "In the East UNKNOWN PASSENGER" (144 pages, 85 color photographs, FBE 2007 editions, photographs by Stefano Pensotti). It is a photographic book on the regions of Eastern Tibet Stefano Pensotti has repeatedly crossed in the past ten years bringing back images of a world that, alas, disappear within a generation.
A labyrinth of valleys and mountain ranges intersected by deep gorges, alpine features the most densely populated and less well known Tibet: Tibet is the east, rich in tradition, inhabited by nomads and warriors, made famous by the writings of those few travelers in the first '900 throughout the land for adventure, passion for science, to know a dangerous world and shrouded in mystery.
Among these valleys have been written last glorious page in the Tibetan empire when the warlike and indomitable Khampa, considered the fiercest nGolok marauders, the Amdowa yak and sheep farmers, objected strenuously to the Chinese army. In Zanskar favorisce la cultura locale, aiutando ragazze e ragazzi a comprendere il passaggio dalla economia di baratto alla globalizzazione, che ormai sta toccando anche le più remote valli Himalayane.
